Objectievenfabriek Canon half april operationeel
De Canon-objectievenfabriek in Utsunomiya, Japan, is vanaf half april weer operationeel. Na de aardbeving begin maart kwam de fabriek stil te liggen. In een nieuw statusrapport geeft Canon aan dat half april de productie weer opstart.
Snel na de aardbeving kwam Canon met een rapport waarin aangegeven werd dat de fabriek in Utsunomiya stil kwam te liggen. Onduidelijk was wanneer de productie weer hervat kon worden.
Even later kwam Canon met een verklaring dat de 8-15mm f/4L fisheye en de vernieuwde 300mm en 400mm f/2.8 IS II werden uitgesteld. Nu is er goed nieuws uit Utsonomiya: de productie wordt binnenkort hervat.
Het Optics R&D Center is sinds 22 maart weer operationeel. De werkzaamheden op de productiefaciliteiten worden half april hervat; ook de productie zal vanaf dat moment weer op gang komen.
